The Blackmore Wagyu farm is situated in the Victorian high country, at Alexandra. The location was specifically selected for its natural lagoons and old river red gums allowing the cattle to be bred in a natural, clean and sustainable environment.

Blackmore Wagyu uses unique farming methods, combining old world Japanese farming with new, technically sound scientific methodologies. This combination contributes to the improvement in both the meat and the quality of the animals’ lives.

David Blackmore’s innovative approach to Wagyu farming, expanding 25 years, has led to the introduction of best practices and quality assurance schemes outside those recommended by Australian regulatory bodies.

Mayura Station imported its first live full-blood Wagyu cattle from Japan in 1998 with a vision of producing and marketing highly consistent, premium quality Wagyu beef.

The 1,130-strong herd of Mayura Station is raised on a 6,000-acre property located in the heart of South Australia’s Limestone Coast, on land characterized by rich, natural pastures and an abundance of sparkling clean water.

From growing the grain to breeding the stock and marketing the best cuts of beef, the Mayura product is a conception to consumption exercise providing the best in traceability. Just like thoroughbred horses, the Mayura herd’s ancestry, bloodlines, and pedigree are a major distinguishing factor in the quality of its beef.

Cape Grim

Tasmania is renowned for its pristine wilderness and a home to the purest air on earth. It is one of 25 in the world and the only one in Australia.

In the North-Western corner of Tasmania 40° 41' South, those world-famous Roaring Forties whip away any trace of pollution as they blow across the Southern Ocean. Combined with low levels of development and its sheer distance from other land landmasses, Cape Grim’s air quality is pretty unique – and the local baseline air pollution station readings prove it.

As told by the Bureau of Meteorology, air quality comes down to carbon particles and the particle count at Cape Grim is unbelievably low. While the average cubic centimeter of air contains 5,000 to 500,000 particles, Cape Grim boasts a meager 10 to 600.

Robbins Island

Fourth generation cattle farmers John, Keith, Alex, and Chauncey Hammond have been breeding Wagyu on Robbins Island since the early 90s.

During the iconic seasonal musters, bands of horsemen swim the cattle through saltwater channels at low tide to move them peacefully between grazing areas.

Situated on the North Western tip of Tasmania, the island has a temperate climate, clean air, and a pristine coastal environment. It provides the ideal foundation of nutrients prior to the cattle entering a grain ration assisted program. 

Jacks Creek

Expanding the production ability of the farm in the 1970s, the Jacks Creek was the first in the district to develop flood irrigation to water their crops.

Their property is situated on the beautiful Great Dividing Mountain Range which is known for its temperate climate and reliable rainfall. For the next eight years, they bred Black Angus cattle building up a strong cattle business. They became one of the first Australian companies to breed, grow, feed, process, and market Wagyu beef.

Today, Jack’s Creek is at the forefront in Australian premium beef production. The company now processes and markets grain fed Wagyu and Black Angus products and ships to over 20 destinations worldwide.
